Courtney Ann Sanford, 32, known for her adept driving skills, met an unexpected and tragic end on what began as a normal day. While driving, she felt a surge of joy as her favorite song, “Happy” by Pharrell Williams, played on the radio. In her excitement, Courtney took a selfie and posted it on Facebook with the caption, “This song makes me happy!” This split-second decision proved fatal.
Shortly after posting, Courtney’s vehicle collided with a truck at approximately 60 km/h. The impact drove her car into a ditch and then into a tree. The devastating crash left her car in flames, and tragically, she was trapped inside and did not survive.
When her family was informed of the accident, they discovered her final Facebook post, eerily timed around the incident. Law enforcement confirmed, “The post was made at 8:33 AM. At 8:34 AM, we received the emergency call.”
This young woman’s untimely de-ath serves as a powerful warning: never text while driving, as no message is worth a life.
Texting while driving puts everyone at risk—yourself, your passengers, pedestrians, and other drivers. The road demands your full attention. Remember, driving is a significant responsibility, not just another daily task.
Courtney’s tragic de-ath highlights the dangers of distracted driving. Her story serves as a stark reminder: when behind the wheel, focus on driving.
